Rowland + Broughton (R+B) Principal John Rowland strives for excellence in all aspects of the firm. Paired with an overriding dedication to sustainability and reducing the impact of the built environment on climate, his design skills, architectural integrity, and mentorship drives inspiration. John’s experience includes high–end hospitality and residential architecture, architectural interior design, urban design, and historic preservation. While constantly editing and pushing design, his focus on big-picture planning and processes provides differentiation.

Aligning with his wife, R+B Principal and Founding Partner Sarah Broughton, John brings professional expertise and knowledge of commercial guidelines, Land Use Codes, and architectural policies. A champion of his community, he has served as a Commissioner with the City of Aspen’s Planning and Zoning Commission, on Aspen’s Civic Master Plan Advisory Committee and City of Aspen’s Build-Out Advisory Committee.
