Biography
Dr. Nick Fang is an associate professor in civil engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rice University in 2008. Before joining UTA, he worked as project manager and assistant to the director at the SSPEED center at Rice University. His current research interests include assessing spatial-temporal impact for urban hydrology, sustainable urban development, water for human settlements, applying radar technologies in urban hydrology, enhancing predictive hydrologic models, developing radar-based flood warning systems, and applying them into water resources development and disaster (hurricanes, flood, and drought) mitigation.
